In 2004, a young lady in the city of Gandhinagar, Gujarat noticed that there were a large number of children who were not going to school. A Ragpicker’s son, a janitor’s daughter, a security guard’s child, a chaiwalla’s kid….. and it struck a chord. She realized that if education had to be provided to these underprivileged and deprived children it had to flow… with the power of love. Which is how the name came to be. Premdhara Shishuvihar. To us they also symbolize a boy child Prem and a girl child Dhara to acknowledge that if India has to move ahead gender inclusivity is a must.
